Isn't Blueger a better center than winger and McCann a better winger than center?
Guentzel - Crosby - Rust
McCann - Malkin - Kap
ZAR - Blueger - Tanev
Laff - Jank - Sceviour
Petts - Letang
MM - Marino
POJ - Ceci
These lines are in order of the space they take going across the page so they must be right. |

They have had a crazy amount of good dmen over the years. Hell they supplied the Habs, Wild and Jackets all #1 dmen while still having their own #1 lol
Also, Timonen, Zidlicky and Hamhuis were good as hell too. Ekholm and Ellis who are still there. No wonder why Shero loved drafting dmen lol. |

Yea, I'm not really sure with Blueger. But I agree that if McCann can go just slot him in Zuckers spot. |

If Zuckers an LTIR for the year, who's got a 5 Million or less winger on an expiring contract they'd dump for nothing, or next to nothing?

Blue has to be the center on PP 2. They don't get a ton of time but he's got hands and is great on faceoffs. Plus, he's more than earned it. - Thorny87
Sully doesn't play anyone other than Letang on both PP and PK. Plus I'm sure he'd rather save Blueger for the shift after the PP against the other team's top line. That's his role: defense first. A new coach might try something else. |

Blueger has basically only played wing when they first broke him in and looked awkward doing it. He could probably learn it given time, but center is much more natural for him. McCann when healthy is the obvious choice on the roster. |

For some crazy reason I saw Jank doing both last night. Obviously that's McCann's usual spot but haven't noticed who was filling in 2c for the PP because they are barely out there anyways lol. But I agree it's awesome to come right out with the Blueger line after the PP. |

No way should Blueger get moved to wing. He has really emerged this year as a legit 3C. Keep him there. |

Oh ye of little faith, Blueger will do fine in a top six role.
This may be an opportunity for Bellerieve to step in and play center. |

He got shifts there at the beginning of the year with Jankowski and Tanev following the power play. The line was actually impressive. Sullivan has to at least look at using Blueger with Malkin and Rust in practice, then decide. The problem is they play more games than practice time.

Montreal has little to no leverage so a French prospect and a 2nd or 3rd should do it imo.
Montreal isn’t a contender. Everyone knows they have to pick between keeping Tatar and Danault and CJ has pretty much made that choice clear. Plus the stupid quarantine requirements.
It would look similar to the Toffoli trade last season. |

Teddy doesn’t have to be moved to moved up for Jordy to get that opportunity given just how (frank)ing bad Jankowski has been. If anything we need to see Bellerieve play C before even considering slotting Blueger up. |

I think he would do fine but they have options to replace that top 6 lw that are better than the options they have to replace him as a 3C. They need some level of depth... |

Absolutely, those two moves are independent of one another.
The question is, is McCann good to go next game. If not, Bellerieve gets his shot. Sullivan has seen enough of O'Connor, for now. Jankowski moves to wing. Not the best situation For Bellerieve, having Sceviour and Jankowski as your wings. They are only going to get about eight minutes a game. Still, it will be enough to see if Bellerieve is ready to supplant Jankowski. |

You're probably right. What I find amusing is not long ago Blueger was unacceptable as a 3C. Now he is irreplaceable.

I thought it was a stretch for him to be considered a strong 3C option but his play doesn't lie. He is playing really great hockey and it's not one of those cases where he has had good puck luck. He looks legit. |
